40K League Table at the end of August
Well it’s the end of August and below is the current league table.
Currently in the lead is Gill , Ben, James and Ross on 300pts, but only Chris has played the required 5 games to claim a victory at the end of the current season (still got 4 months to go mind.)
There’s a couple of killing sprees in the making with some good running wins on the go and at the bottom of the pile is …… me
who say Chaos Space Marines aren’t competitive
League Update!
The Fantasy and 40k Leagues are now Live. If you have a league game against another Garrison member please email your results to leagues@yorkgarrison.co.uk
Saturday League Event
To mark the start of the new Garrison leagues, this Saturday 13th August will be a bonus weekend for anyone involved in the leagues. Any league games played this Saturday will be counted towards your league Rank. In addition anybody who attends this Saturday and playes 1 or more league games will recieve 1 bonus point. You must apply the bonus point to the relevant league to correspond with the game played (so if you play a fantasy game it must be applied to the fantasy league) Only 1 bonus point will apply regardless of how many games you play.

Warhammer 40K League, rules and scoring
Army Selection:
1750pts
You may change your list each week and you may even change the codex you select your list from. We do ask politely that you don’t tailor an army selection specifically to beat an opponent. Try to remember that in normal tournaments you don’t know what you’re facing when you design an army.
Scoring:
The League will be a Ladder Rank system based on League score.
League score is derived from your league points scored divided by the number of games played x 100
Points will be awarded as follows:
Win – 3pts
Draw – 1pt
Giant Killer: “Defeat a player with a higher rank to gain additional points”
You will gain additional points as follows if you win and your opponent has a higher rank than yourself.
100-199 score higher – 1pt
200-299 score higher – 2pts
300+ score higher – 3pts
NOTE: This rule is only in effect after both players have played at least 5 games.
Killing Spree: If you manage to defeat opponents week in week out you will be rewarded. You will gain additional points for going X amount of games without being defeated.
3 games won in a row – 1pt
6 games won in a row – 3pts in total
9 games won in a row – 6pts in total
12 games won in a row – 10pts in total
15 games won in a row – A Steward’s inquiry into you army.
Kill Joy: Ending someones “killing Spree” will grant you 50% of their current Killing Spree points (rounding down)
The above points and bonus points are there to stop someone winning 5 games then never playing again and winning the league, with Killing Spree’s and Giant killing you will always have a chance to gain points back and you will always be able to have an unlimited rank. Without them the best rank you would be able to achieve would be 300.
Awards / Prizes
We have emailed a few suppliers of miniatures to see if they want to donate a prize, its unlikely they will but we are prepared to put something in towards a monthly prize, feel free to make a donation, but a £10 gift voucher for GW would be a nice monthly prize I feel which would equate to putting in a quid each.
The proposed award breakdown will be as follows:
Monthly:
Most Points Scored – Monthly Prize (not highest rank, so you can still achieve this if you start the month with the lowest rank)
Highest Ranked Imperium Player – Tiny Prize
Highest Ranked Enemy of the Imperium player – Tiny Prize
Annually/6 Monthly
So this will either be the Autumn/Winter League or the 2011/12 League at the end of the season there will be the following awards. With a trophy to put in your bathroom or similar proud place;-
League Winner
Biggest underdog win (based on rank scores)
Longest Killing Spree
General Custer Wooden Spoon (person who has suffered the most defeats)
To be considered for the Annual / 6 monthly awards you have to have a least 10 games under you belt.
I’ll post a list of people who’ve already posted an interest in joining in from the forum shortly and see if I can work out some sort of table in the blogger.

Fantasy League Rules and Scoring
House Rules
1: You may use SoM monsters in your army but they must be taken from your Rare allowance and a limit of 0-1 and 300pts will be enforced.
2: Unless agreed by both players beforehand, please use the Fantasy Rulebook to set up terrain.
3: You must have been a Garrison member for a minimum of 1 month in order to join the league.
4: No Special Characters!
Army Selection:
Minimum of 2000pts to be agreed with opponent before game.
You may change your list each week and you may even change the army book you select your list from.
The League will be a Ladder Rank system.
Points Scored Divided by Games played x 100 = Rank
Points will be awarded as follows:
Win – 3pts
Draw – 1pt
Note: To win a game you need to score 500VP more than your opponent, 499 or less is a draw. This is due to the fact that there are no bonus points for massacring someone etc, a win is a win.
Giant Killer: ”Defeat a player with a higher rank to gain additional points”
You will gain additional points as follows if you win and your opponent has a higher rank than yourself.
100-199 higher – 1pt
200-299 higher – 2pts
300+ higher – 3pts
NOTE: This rule is only in effect after both players have played at least 5 games.
Killing Spree: If you manage to defeat opponents week in week out you will be rewarded.
You will gain additional points for going X amount of games without being defeated.
3 games won in a row – 1pt
6 – 2pts
9 – 3pts
12 – 4pts
15 – Yeah right!!!
Kill Joy: Ending someones “killing Spree” will grant you 50% of their Killing Spree points
(rounding down) e.g. If player A were to go 12 games without a defeat he would have gained a total of 10 points on his killing spree, then he plays Player B who kills him with all sorts of cannon antics then Player B would gain 5 additional points for ending Player A’s Killing Spree. If Player A had only won 3 Games and Player B ended his spree Player B would not get any points 1 divided by 2 = 0.5 then rounded down.
Worst case scenario is my gf said she will bake a cake for the winner each month so there will definitely be something on offer.
Monthly:
Most Points Scored – Monthly Prize (not highest rank, so you can still achieve this if you start the month with the lowest rank)
Highest Ranked Order Player – Tiny Prize
Highest Ranked Destruction Player – Tiny Prize
Annually
The league will run until the next AGM at the end of the season there will be the following awards. With a trophy to put on your car bonet or similar proud place
. You must have played a minimum of 10 games against 3 different opponents to qualify.
League Winner
Biggest underdog win (based on rank scores)
Longest Killing Spree
